As the Gungahlin Jets team physio, I spend a large portion of my time at pre-season training sessions screening our players and looking for any risk factors that might increase their chance of injury this year. As physio’s, we are trained to pinpoint any discrepancies and have tests that look at ankle range and strength, knee and hip control and shoulder stability.
By screening you from head to toe it’s often quite obvious what area is most likely to increase your injury risk this year. We can then prescribe tailor specific stretches or strength programs to perform in the lead up to Round 1. That way, come game time, we’re be ready for an injury free season!
